Sierra Leone

Video clip of Pastor Daniel Bona, Ignite National Director in Sierra Leone, at the Ignite Liberia conference.

Latest news from Pastor Daniel Bona:

The Lord has been so gracious to us again as He has given us a big open door in the northern part of the country, where one hardly finds a missionary or Christian activities. As Ignite Sierra Leone want to come out with detail plans for 2010,I decided to visit some unreached areas in the north of the country where we have more muslims and animists.

As the Lord could have it, I was able to reach Kabala,Bafodia and Kamakumba, where we no have Ignite activites among the young people in those area and schools. What a great opportunity to thank Him for!

Kabala is the district headquaters for the north and it is 200miles from Freetown, while Bafodia is 245miles from Freetown and Kamakumba is 2255 miles from freetown.

In Kamakuba, this village has 500 or more people, but with no medical fercilities. During our visit with the team,a lady who has been in labour pain for five days was brought to us for prayers and medical assistance,as we were only having few first aid treatment. There was no way we can respond medically to this woman's problem,as we were with any medicine that could help her,but we decided to pray with her. Her labour pain continue for six days, and finally the child died in her wormb. This was really a difficult thing for all of us including the villagers, but finally on the seventh day, after praying for this woman again, the dead child came out miraculously. Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beside that case, there were several medical problems that confronted us in this village. In view of this, I am kindly asking Ignite brethern,to please join me in prayer for medical support for this village. I want to make my second visit end of October,2009,to follow up the new converts which the Lord has given us in that part of the country.

Among the many testimones, the Lord also allowed us to baptize one Iman(a leader of a mosque) with his whole family. This told us that he got a revelation of Jesus in a dream who told him that he could care his sickness if he will accept him as Lord . This man said he agreed and upon getting up from sleep he was made whole. He told this to his fellow muslims and they treaten to killed him ,so he had to escape for his life and family. He finally met us in Kamakumba after walking 36 miles from the village where he got this revelation. Praise God he is now baptized with his entire family and is now part of the new converts in Kamakumba. Please pray for him and all the other young converts. We have left a brother and his wife there to help mature this converts, but there is much need for frequent visits.

As the Lord continue to give us grace to pray, please remeber us in the following:

  1. Pray for provision in the ministry,as we are confronted with more challenges as we expand within the country(school fees for needy children, care for persecuted converts from Islam, medical care, mobility, etc)
  2. Pray for office space, though am presently using my house, but the group is growning so fast and the need to have an office outside my house is becoming more real.
  3. Pray for the continuation of the school and market ministry .
  4. Continue to pray for the ten volunteers who are sacrifically working with us.
  5. Pray for my family as sometimes it is really difficult to face the financial challenges in the home.
  6. Pray for my country as it is becoming more Islamic each day,for the Lord to make Ignite and answer to an out break of a mighty revival in the country.
