The Leadership Academy trains young people to impact their generation by becoming inspirational leaders. It will:

Fill your head with new ideas and understanding of Christian leadership
Touch your heart, igniting a passion within you to lead and to grow
Provide you with hands on ways to practice different aspects of Christian leadership in your daily life

It is a course that enables 18-25 year olds to explore their leadership potential in either a Christian or a secular context and is a great opportunity to be trained in the basics of Christian leadership. The Academy offers up to 18 sessions of topics such as 'Transforming my Generation', 'Who I am in Christ', 'Outrageous Prayer', 'The Bible Uncovered', 'The Father Heart of God', 'Missional Discipleship', 'Communication', and much, much more! It also includes an Experiential Learning Day and a Missional Weekend away!

Txt Worship

At the last few events we've trialed a new way of worshipping God. As ever, we're using modern technology to do that and in this case the humble text message! During the worship, young people can text their praise to God through to us and then we place it on the big screeen so that everyone can see what God has put on their heart to share. A First for Ignite

Work is already well underway for the first Ignite Church to be built specifically for Leprosy sufferers as part of their Leper Colony. Pastor Prasad (Ignite's Partner Pastor in India) managed to find a house for sale which could be significantly extended and transformed into a church. It will also be the first of Ignite's 11 churches in India to have toilets and wash facilities (as must for those with Leprosy).

The church has been provided by offerings given by young people at Ignite events and committed Ignite adult supporters.

IgniteHope Local Report

IgniteHope Local News report: 2816 hours delivered!

Over the May bank Holiday weekend we saw a bunch of churches and youth groups march out into the communities of South Wales, being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. The vision of IgniteHope is to bring long term and lasting change through Jesus’ example of word and action.

A load of different projects took place over the weekend including: Fun day’s, BBQ’s, River clean up’s, Litter picks, Graffiti Removal, Car washes and a load more!

In total around 24 churches were involved in delivering projects to the communities of South Wales. Many churches from the same local area joined up, carrying out projects together.

The aim was to reach 1500 hours of community kindness, the amazing news is that well over that was delivered! We are still calculating the final number of hours, but definitely over 2500 hours were delivered over the May bank holiday weekend!

In 2008 IgniteHope took place for the first time as part of Hope ‘08; IgniteHope Local ‘09 was a continuation on of this. It has been amazing to see young people so motivated that they themselves are planning and organising projects in their local area!

We believe that greater things are still to come, we believe that God is moving – we just need to be ready and available. Now we look to IgniteHope 2010 as we prepare to go out louder, bigger and better than before!

The Rains Came...

Message to all involved in Ignite from Peter Opolo in Kenya, after months of drought and following a violent attack on their office which left two staff members badly injured, here is the update.

“We are truly grateful for your prayers because at the moment we have rains in the country and people are planting and some even weeding their crops. We identify an office in a good place but we cannot move out yet because it is more expensive than what we are paying now. We are trusting God that He will provide for us the money so that we move to the new office by the beginning of June”.

Please continue to pray to pray for them. They also gave thanks for Ignite sending the funds to allow them to buy their first photocopier so that they can produce a local newsletter.

Ignite Liberia beyond all our expectations

Ignite Liberia is a family affair with husbands and wives working together to engage young people with the good news about the Lord Jesus. Pastor Emmanuel Jonah and his wife Witnee head up the work there and they are all the time looking to increase the number of Pastors in the country who want to see youngsters well discipled.

Already there are many Ignite Centres there and the first Ignite conference will be held between 17th and 29th June this year. Both of Ignites’ Directors Gary Smith and Nigel James are going out to encourage the committed team in Liberia and to see first hand what is happening.

Here are just a few of the Pastors involved in sharing the Ignite declaration in many areas of Monrovia the capital and beyond.
