Don't Give Up!

As Christians, we want to live life the way the Bible tells us. God sent Jesus to be an example of how we are to live. Jesus is God’s son, the son of the great, massive Mr God Himself! But when He came to earth, He didn’t go around boasting about who He is, He made himself the same as a servant, made himself lower than the low, I mean, He was even born in a smelly stable with all the animals, not many of us can say we were born in a stable.



In the times when Jesus was on earth, people who had committed crimes, who weren’t very liked because of the things they had done, were put on a cross to die as punishment. Nailed to a cross, in front of everyone, suffering, in pain, being shouted abuse at. Not really the classiest way to die. Jesus did that for something He hadn’t even done! He took the blame for us!

But Jesus didn’t stay on the cross. He is alive today! And we are called by Him to not just tell people about Him & His love for us, but to show them.

We can do this by putting others before ourselves. That saying that everyone knows: ‘treat others like you’d want to be treated’ well treat them better!



Sometimes it’s hard to do this, when you’re having a bad day, when people aren’t being kind to you, when you’re tired and grumpy and would much rather be at home watching TV than serving other people, everyone has days like this! Even those people that seem happy all the time! But it’s your choice to put others first, to chose to show people the love of God, just because you’re feeling grumpy doesn’t mean they should miss out!



Jesus sees you trying, He knows if you’re really trying to honour others above yourself and to show people His love. At the end of Jesus’ physical time on earth, God took Him to be seated at His right hand, He gave Him the name above all other names and said that every knee will bow before Him. You will get your reward! The people around you might get to know Jesus and have everlasting life, which is the main mission Jesus has given us, and you will get a reward in heaven!

Don’t give up guys! It will be worth it!



Philippians 2:3 NLT

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6 Though he was God,[a]

he did not think of equality with God

as something to cling to.

7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges[b];

he took the humble position of a slave[c]

and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form,[d]

8 he humbled himself in obedience to God

and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour

and gave him the name above all other names,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.
