SPREE!

If you didn't know already the band that we got together at Easter had their first taste of leading worship together at Spree. Spree is a weekend camp where there is worship and teaching as well as outdoor activities. The band consisting of 8 members between the ages of 15 and 19 lead worship in the 'going deeper' venue which was hosted by the Ignite team. They were "the best band we have ever had at this conference" (Gary Smith CEO of Ignite) They spent 6 Tuesday evenings before the weekend practicing, praying and hearing devotionals. The band who were (from left to right in the middle picture below) Tom, Emily, Beci, Charlie, Matt, Jack, Ben and Nathan spent the weekend not only worshipping  during the allotted sessions but spent time leading the extended worship slot, joined in at the acoustic worship slot and by all accounts stayed up until the small hours of the morning singing and fellowshipping with the service crew!

Apart from one member of the band losing their voice by the last day, the band grew in stature and became more confident as the weekend went on. “We saw the delegates engage with the songs and be drawn into the presence of God by these guys who were pretty much the same age! It was inspiring to see them grow” (Meg Beacher Be Co-ordinator for Ignite)

Inspire Events

 

 

 

Inspire events are about building up young musicians, songwriters and worship leaders in South Wales. Sometimes these are whole day events for everyone, including teaching, worship and workshops and we also run master classes for more in depth tuition.

 

 

Exciting Opportunities

 

The most exciting thing we are doing at the moment is working with church worship teams, providing 8 teaching sessions. These sessions include biblical, spiritual and practical application to worship such as 3 S’s of Worship: start, sacrifice, service (sample of teaching notes here) and Timing Counts (practical look at how important timing is for the whole band). This is something that we as a team are passionate about and have ploughed our time, effort and energy into finding the most important lessons we all need to learn in order for us to develop as musicians, worship leaders and song writers.
