The Ignite Cymru team are a group of young people working under the leadership of the charity Big Ideas. Their purpose is to work in Secondary schools on behalf of local churches anywhere in Wales. The team is able to offer a variety of Religious Education lessons and their presence in a school can be a positive way to strengthen the existing relationship between a church and a local school, or even to establish that relationship.

Big Ideas has a ten-year history of working in schools all over England and Wales. They have regularly taken RE lessons in High Schools in Cardiff and often lead week-long missions into schools in collaboration with local churches.

The Team Can Offer the Following Lessons:

KS3:

1. FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS

Description: Questions such as: Who am I? Where do I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? All explained in a lesson called “Is that your final answer?” (Based on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”)

2. THE BIBLE

Description: Discussions and questions revolving around what the Bible means to Christians.

3. CHRISTIANITY UNCOVERED

Description: A simple overview of Christian Belief

GCSE:

4. PRAYER

Description: Gives insight into the why and how of Christian prayer.

5. IDENTITY

Description: Discovers that how we think about ourselves effects the way we think about others

ANY AGE:

6. THE CROSS

Description: Explains the significance of the Crucifixion in Christian belief.

7. THE CHRISTMAS STORY

Description: Explains the significance of Christmas in Christian belief.
